Alcohol will take of hairspray, but I don’t think you want to put anything flammable on your phone. I would say just put it on ebay and get a new one.

I’m afraid the solution for clearing the hairspray out of the phone would destroy the phone even further. I think it’s time for a new one.

Rinse it in conditioner.

take it to your cell provider. They will tell you either that they can fix it, or they may charge you a small charge for a refurb replacement after trying to salvage data off of the hairsprayed phone.

Once upon a time, I dropped my phone in Kool Aid and setting it in a bag of rice cleared that up pretty quickly. If the hairspray is still wet, I would try that. If it’s at the sticky gross stage, I would assume you’ll have to replace your phone. Take it to your service provider, I’m sure you’re not the first.

You can try to put it in a bowl full of uncooked rice (cover it completely) and let it sit over night over night. Rice absorbs moisture and it may be able to pull the hair spray liquid out of the phone. I know it works with regular spills.

First, dry the phone the best that you can - remove the battery cover and dry the battery if you can.

Second - wait. It’s possible that the damage is only temporary and that when any hairspray that leaked inside has dried completely, the phone will work again. When my phone was dropped into beer, it didn’t work for 3 days.

Last but not least - If the phone still won’t work after a few days, try replacing the battery - it’s possible that only the battery was damaged (you can try your battery in someone else’s phone, or their battery in yours if you know someone with the same phone.

Good Luck.

well you shouldnt be trying to turn on a phone when its wet so id figure that it would be worse, so i wouldnt reccomend trying to turn it on. Try letting the hairspray dry then take out the battery, get a barely damp cloth and wipe the hair spray off of the battery and phone, let both fully dry and then put the battery back in and try turning it on.
