What CPU speed is required to view a full HD movie on a laptop without any problems?

how to cpu

Without the audio and video getting out of sync etc. I have a 2GHz Intel Core2 Duo CPU with 1GB RAM, do you think it should be enough?
I have a 23″ full HD LCD monitor attached to my laptop.
I have 256 MB graphics memory.

CPU speed? that has nothing to do with HD video. I can see perfect HD on my pc with the same specs as yours

if you can see this video then you can see all HD

That sounds fine, its your video card you should ask about though.

I can watch such media offerings on my laptop which is 1GB memory and an AMD 2600+ processor running at 2Ghz. I only have 128MB video ram so you have no probs. Laptops are usually limited to processor power because of cooling problems caused by the confined space, the heat sink and fan are very small in comparison to a PC. You are on the top end of current specs. and should have no problems. Any difficulties and I would suspect the graphics chip to be the cause of your video limitations and that is not fixable. Under those circumstances your next laptop should be one designed for high level games where the video chip is considered as one of the most important parts by the designer.
